01For new players: unlock Sword first, but plan for Bomb
The best race to level first depends on where you are in your progression. Sword Race is available from the moment you start—no unlock cost. Bomb Race demands upfront resources: 1,000 cash, 200 bot cores, 20 advanced bot cores, and 1 boss bot core before you can even access the first character (DigitizedPixels, 29 August 2026, video aqRUQ0GGZLI). For a new player with no resources, Sword lets you begin climbing immediately. Bomb is the race you unlock after a grind for money and cores that no recording has timed.
This does not mean Sword is better overall. Rather, it means Sword is your foundation. You will use Sword to earn the materials needed for Bomb. Once you unlock Bomb, you gain access to a race with stronger late-game characters and different tactical options—but only after you have paid the entry cost.
02Sword Race: free to start, builds early momentum
Sword is your opening race. You spawn with Sword Soldier and immediately unlock Sword Brute after completing the tutorial. At level 20, you gain Sword Mech. The race builds a clear progression: each unlock is tied to a level threshold, and each character feels noticeably stronger than the last. Golden Sword Soldier has 500 health and can one-shot small enemies (DigitizedPixels, 29 August 2026, video kEkZIlKwcnQ).
The signature strength of Sword is mobility and range. Sword Hero's Thrust ability travels far across the map, and holding jump during Sword Spin lets you briefly fly—a technique discovered by players and confirmed across multiple videos and comments (DigitizedPixels, 29 August 2026; independent confirmations from DigitizedPixels' comment section). Sword Colossus caps the race with Inferno Mode, a time-limited ability that coats your attacks in fire and dramatically increases damage. In practice, Sword is a carry race: you level it, you get stronger, you solo content.
Cost to unlock: zero. Time to unlock first character: two minutes (tutorial completion).
03Bomb Race: high cost, area-control playstyle, stronger numbers late
Bomb Race is unlocked via the shop once you have saved up resources. The full unlock is 1,000 cash, 200 bot cores, 20 advanced bot cores, and 1 boss bot core. The first two currencies drop from defeating bosses; the last (boss bot core) drops from specific bosses but with uncertain rates—the video author stated 'I'm not 100% sure' which boss guarantees it (DigitizedPixels, 29 August 2026, video aqRUQ0GGZLI). No recording times this grind on a fresh account; the cost list is the only hard number we have.
Once unlocked, Bomb plays completely differently from Sword. Bomb Soldier has a self-destruct ability; Bomb Hero throws multiple bomb types (fire, frost, giant) and can use a fuel-based jetpack. Bomb Colossus stomp attacks deal 250+ damage with short cooldown and can be spammed to control large areas. The race excels at crowd control and sustained damage output over area rather than precision strikes.
Bomb's golden forms push these numbers higher: Golden Bomb Colossus stomp does 1,500 damage, compared to roughly 1,000 damage from Sword Colossus spike attacks (DigitizedPixels, 01 September 2026, video lXW5uffK_Ws; Sword Colossus from 29 August 2026, video kEkZIlKwcnQ). However, these golden versions require reaching race level 30 and then grinding mastery levels—a weeks-long commitment after you unlock the base race.
- Unlock cost: 1,000 cash + 200 bot cores + 20 advanced bot cores + 1 boss bot core (single-source reporting, rate of boss core drop unconfirmed)
- Early playstyle: area denial via bomb drops and explosions
- Late playstyle: homing bombs, bomb drones (3 in golden form vs 2 in base), stomp spam
- Golden Colossus stomp: 1,500 damage (buffed state, artifact-enhanced during testing)
04Skills comparison: Sword mobility vs Bomb area control
Sword excels at single-target, high-mobility combat. Sword Hero's Thrust carries you across the entire map in one ability use; Sword Mech and Colossus attack in lines or crosses, hitting enemies both on the ground and in the air from one hit. Sword Colossus Inferno Mode is a time-limited power spike that increases all fire-based damage output (DigitizedPixels, 27 August 2026, video _TB3VEL9bwI).
Bomb excels at covering ground and hitting multiple targets simultaneously. Bomb Brute's Explosion Punch does 100+ damage in an area; Bomb Hero can throw giant bombs that wipe entire groups; Bomb Colossus mini bombs are 'spammable' homing missiles that track enemies and the user can juggle three bomb types (mini, bomb cannon, bomb drones) in rapid succession (DigitizedPixels, 29 August 2026, video aqRUQ0GGZLI). One player's account noted that the jetpack in Bomb Hero 'does a lot of damage' and is 'really good to aim', whereas Sword's thrust is one-directional.
For wave-based endless modes, Bomb's area coverage becomes more valuable as enemy density increases. For early-game beginner zones, Sword's simplicity (point, hit, move) is easier to execute.
05Golden skins: long-term investment for both races
Both Sword and Bomb races have golden (mastery) versions that require reaching race level 30, then grinding mastery tasks to unlock gold skins for individual characters. Golden skins are not cosmetic—they boost health, damage, cooldown reduction, and movement speed by 20% per mastery level (DigitizedPixels, 29 August 2026, video kEkZIlKwcnQ). Golden Sword Brute gains 750 health (base 250 to gold 1,000); Golden Sword Soldier gains roughly 400 health. Golden Bomb characters follow the same pattern.
The question 'Is golden Bomb Colossus stronger than golden Sword Colossus?' has a numerical answer: Golden Bomb Colossus stomp does 1,500 damage while Golden Sword Colossus spike slam does around 1,000 damage (DigitizedPixels, 01 September 2026, video lXW5uffK_Ws; 29 August 2026, video kEkZIlKwcnQ). However, Sword Colossus also has Inferno Mode, which the video author demonstrated one-shotting the Cerberus boss (a creature with 13,000 HP during testing with artifacts). Both golden forms are end-game content that take weeks to reach; raw damage numbers alone do not determine which is 'stronger' in practice.
06Bazooka Race: the third option, unlocked after you have beaten super bosses
A third race, Bazooka, was added in the 5 September 2026 update. It requires materials dropped by a new 'super boss' that appears every 50 waves in endless mode, plus 10,000 cash, 1,000 bot cores, 100 advanced bot cores, 5 boss bot cores, and 1 exploder hacker bot core (DigitizedPixels, 06 September 2026, video 1eU9ExqyZ6M). This race is not a starter option; it comes after you have leveled Sword (and possibly Bomb) to a high enough level that you can push into endless mode far enough to farm super boss encounters.
Bazooka characters use homing missiles and jetpack mobility. Bazooka Drone is described as having 'insane' mobility with hover controls via mouse; Bazooka Colossus has a 'Giga Missile' that 'nukes the whole server' according to one player's account (DigitizedPixels, 06 September 2026, video 1eU9ExqyZ6M). For new players, Bazooka is a novelty unlock to aim for after mastering Sword and Bomb, not a starting race.
07What we have not checked
- Exact drop rates for boss bot cores—videos note 'there's a chance' but no percentages
- Whether Sword or Bomb levels faster (same mechanics, no measured progression data from players)
- Optimal artifact stacking for each race in early game (only late-game showcases available)
- Community preference data or player counts per race (no public server metrics beyond total CCU)
Complete a full progression run on a fresh account for each race and time to level 30; survey 50+ players on their first race choice and their reasoning; extract race selection from the game's telemetry if the developer publishes it.

Frequently asked
Should I grind for Bomb unlock or stick with Sword?
Stick with Sword until you have unlocked Bomb's materials. Sword is free and will generate the cash and bot cores you need. How long the Bomb unlock takes has not been shown in any footage we have. Once you have Bomb, you can switch between races depending on the level or mode you are attempting.
Is golden Bomb Colossus stronger than golden Sword Colossus?
Golden Bomb Colossus stomp does 1,500 damage (one player's testing); Golden Sword Colossus spike does around 1,000 damage. However, Sword Colossus has Inferno Mode which the video demonstrations show one-shotting the Cerberus boss. Damage numbers alone do not determine overall strength—playstyle and the mode you are playing matter more.
Can I level both Sword and Bomb at the same time?
Yes. Each race has its own level counter. Your progress in Sword does not slow your Bomb leveling once you unlock it. However, your time is split, so you will level more slowly than if you focused on one race.
What is Bazooka Race and should I get it early?
Bazooka is a third race added in the 5 September 2026 update. It requires defeating the super boss in endless mode (every 50 waves) and costs 10,000 cash, 1,000 bot cores, 100 advanced bot cores, 5 boss bot cores, and 1 exploder hacker bot core. You should not aim for it until you have leveled Sword and Bomb to high levels and can survive endless mode consistently.
Why can't I use my Sword experience to level Bomb faster?
Sword and Bomb experience are tracked separately. Leveling Sword only advances your Sword race level; it does not contribute to Bomb. Secret Noob and The Toilet (special characters) also do not grant any race experience, though they do grant money and task progress.
Does Bomb cost money every time I switch to it?
No. The 1,000 cash cost is a one-time unlock fee for the entire race. Once paid, you can switch between any unlocked Bomb character freely, the same way you switch between Sword characters.
